Looking for a fun and effective way to teach sight words to early readers? This page offers flashcard style words and easy, silly sentences that use common sight words in ways children are guaranteed to remember. Each word is introduced on its own, followed by a short, funny sentence read aloud using text-to-speech audio. First, your child sees the word, then tries to say it — and finally hears it used in context. This combination of reading and listening helps make tricky words more memorable, improves pronunciation, and builds reading confidence. Perfect for parents, teachers, and tutors working with beginning readers at home or in the classroom. Watch this video…

How to Use These Flashcards
-
Show the word on the screen.
-
Ask your child to say the word out loud.
-
Play the sentence to hear the word used in a funny context. The first few sets are not really funny – they were made before I hit on the idea of making them funny.
-
Read the sentence together and enjoy the giggles!
- If a word is too easy, tell your child to just click on “I got it right” and move on (the silly sentence had then done its work).
Each set needs to be completed three times to be declared “proficient” in the set.
